Last November, I attended Posh, a workshop and retreat for female filmmakers. There, I received invaluable education and guidance from other women in the industry. One seminar, in particular, focused on the significance of the inspiration shoot. Three remarkable women, Dawn Kelly, Brea McDonald, and Meghan Simone, expounded on this idea through their short film creation for Style Me Pretty. This project emphasized the importance of seeking others whom you admire and working together to produce an inspiring piece. Immediately, I thought of Cathy Lane.
Cathy Lane is the founder and design extraordinaire of Panache Design Works located in Collingwood, Ontario. She was the creative vision behind one of our favourite Blue Mountain Resort weddings Brittany + David. We were blown away by her talent and awe-inspiring decor!
Last Saturday, we were fortunate enough to spend an afternoon with Cathy and her team as they prepared for a wedding at Lora Bay Golf Club. It was captivating to watch them work tirelessly as they transformed the room. Her attention to detail is astounding! From the centerpieces, to the overhead treatments, her brilliance speaks for itself. We learned so much and have gained even more respect for designers and the incredibly gorgeous work they can create.
