About Darlington Studios
We are a husband and wife, professional photo + video team located in Barrie, Ontario. We met in France in April 2005 and exchanged rings a short six months later. It was a whirlwind romance set in the Mediterranean, with gondola rides, and baguettes galore (yes, we are foodies). We finish each others sandwiches more often than finishing each others sentences.
We specialize in weddings and engagement sessions for modern couples. When not shooting or editing, we are spending time with our little boy or serving in our local church. We love to travel, so you will probably see us working around the Toronto, Vaughan, Muskoka, Collingwood area and beyond. We recently received the 2011 Wedding Wire Bride’s Choice Award for reviews from our happy couples. We love to create a fun, relaxed atmosphere, while capturing timeless memories of your wedding day.
Paul Darlington, Photographer
Paul’s been a photographer since before he was born. Well, not quite that long, but nearly. Photography runs in his family. His grandfather was a navigator for the R.C.A.F. in WWII and took some pretty amazing photos, which inspired Paul to pick up his first camera. Paul’s first job as a photographer was at the Museum of Horror and Torture in London, England where he met The Rolling Stones and Blondie. From there, he traveled around the globe as a photographer for Princess Cruises, where he searched five continents (unsuccessfully) for a McDonald’s chocolate milkshake. Melanie Darlington, Cinematic Videographer
Melanie graduated from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL with a Bachelor of Science in Radio, Television and Film production and a concentration in Russian language. Go Cats!! Her first film job was an extras casting director for the movies, Chain Reaction and Blues Brothers 2000. From there, she began singing professionally for many years at Walt Disney World and on various cruise lines. She loves sugar-free gum and will chew an entire pack in one seating if left unsupervised. Melanie is a highly trained videographer who loves to capture those unforgettable moments on a wedding day. Our Studio
Our studio is in an ideal location for engagement sessions, headshots, and family portraits. It is perfect for producing a variety of training and promotional videos. We are situated right beside an environmentally protected forest, which provides us with a gorgeous, natural background for engagement and family sessions.
