Wedding Photography Fusion at Elm Hurst Inn in Ingersoll, ON

Christina + Tom | Wedding Photography in Ingersoll, ON

About a year ago, we received the sweetest phone call from Christina’s sister, Deanna. She watched one of our fusion films of a wedding at Elm Hurst Inn and wanted to know if we might be available to capture her sister’s wedding at the same venue. We chatted with Christina + Tom over Skype (Deanna popped onscreen for a brief moment to say “Hi!”) and we adored them all right from the start. Christina + Tom are an incredibly easy-going couple. You could instantly tell they truly enjoy each other’s company. We just knew that we wanted to capture their special day. This is their wedding story.

PREPARATION
We drove up to the tree-lined driveway of Christina’s parent’s home to begin the day with the bride and her bridal party. The calm, peaceful atmosphere was not like you’d expect on a wedding day. Everyone was super relaxed, as they got their hair and make-up done, while listening to classic rock hits. SIDEBAR, you already know it’s going to be a great wedding when Journey’s on the bridal prep playlist.

Christina slipped into her stunning, lightweight lace gown with the help of her mother. Deanna stepped in to tie the satin sash, with tears in her eyes. Christina, the princess of Harley, looked lovely.

We went outside with the family for some photos of her parents, and the adorable ring bearer and flower girls, among the beautifully manicured garden. Everyone celebrated the day with a few puppy dog kisses and a champagne toast. Then, it was time to travel, by limo, to Elm Hurst Inn.

We arrived at the Elm Hurst Inn, a grand hotel and spa right in the heart of Ingersoll, Ontario, to meet Tom in their master suite. We spent a few moments with him, before heading down the stairs to the Grand Ballroom for the ceremony.

CEREMONY
Guests quickly filled the linen-covered chairs that were set up around the room in preparation for the ceremony. They were all handed cleverly-designed programs with the famed marriage quote by The Impressive Clergyman from “The Princess Bride.”

“Mawwiage. Mawwiage is what bwings us togethew today. Mawwiage, that bwessed awwangement, that dweam within a dweam. And wove, twue wove, wiww fowwow you fowevah and evah… So tweasuwe youw wove.”

The ring bearer and flower girls, in all their cuteness, led the wedding march down the ivory-coloured rose petaled aisle. Christina joined Tom at the front of the room. Among family and friends, the two shared in a traditional hand ceremony before reciting their vows. They received a blessing from their parents, exchanged rings and kissed. The two happily walked back up the aisle as husband and wife!

CREATIVE
Everyone gathered on the back lawn for a group photo. After cheering for the camera, all the guests headed to the upper level for cocktail hour. Once the family and bridal pictures were completed, we took a short walk around the property to the front of the inn for a few moments with the newlyweds.

RECEPTION
Christina + Tom entered the room! The crowd jumped to their feet in celebration. The night was filled with sweet stories documenting the couple’s love story and recalling fun moments in their lives. The emcee delighted the crowd with amusing anecdotes in between dinner courses. After dessert, Christina + Tom shared their first dance, followed by parent dances. Then, it was time to party! DJ Jamie, from Zzat Entertainment, set the party off with pumping beats. Everyone crowded the dance floor and joined in the celebration.

Christina + Tom, thank you so much for inviting us to your wedding, allowing us to capture such a beautiful moment in your lives and introducing us to your amazing family. Have a relaxing, romantic honeymoon! You deserve it!
