Wedding Cinema at Windermere House in Windermere, Ontario

Lauren + Fraser | Wedding Cinema in MacTier, Ontario

Lauren + Fraser are married! We’ve been looking forward to this wedding since the new year began, when we were first introduced to Lauren + Fraser by our friend and event coordinator extraordinaire, Holly Matrimony. Not only would we get the opportunity to capture an amazing couple’s wedding, but we would get to revisit one of our favourite Muskoka waterfront locations, the ever-stunning Windermere House. This is the wedding story of Lauren + Fraser.

We started the day on the dock of Foot’s Bay Marina in MacTier, Ontario. Lauren’s dad arrived in his motorboat to pick us up and transport us over to their island cottage on Lake Joseph. Lauren and the ladies were finishing their hair and make-up when we reached the boathouse. Shortly thereafter, Fraser and the guys traveled by bus and boat to the family cottage, a hidden oasis amongst the trees. Lauren slipped into her silk gown, with the help of her mother and ladies, awaiting the moment she would get to see Fraser for the first time. The cottage is an important part of their love story, so it was only fitting to have this special moment take place on the dock. It was a unseasonably chilly day, with intermittent rain showers all morning, but for a brief moment the clouds parted and the sun beamed for their first look. It was glorious!

We headed back to the mainland and drove to Windermere House to set up for the ceremony on the lawn. Once again, rain poured from the sky, drenching the seats and watering the flowers, but once Lauren + Fraser arrived, miraculously the showers ceased. The gentlemen sauntered onto the lawn to the epic “Star Wars” theme, followed by the ladies, then Lauren and her parents. Lauren + Fraser were pronounced husband and wife under the bright blue sky.

After a quick group photo, the two headed upstairs to sign the register with the officiant, while their loved ones enjoyed cocktail hour. A guacamole bar and lawn games provided entertainment for the guests, while Lauren + Fraser posed for portraits. Everyone made their way into the beautifully decorated tent for the reception. Lauren + Fraser were announced into the room and dinner was served. Sweet speeches were spoken by their family members as the night progressed. Then, it was time for Lauren + Fraser to return to the lawn for a first dance under the stars. The two entered the ring of fire (candles encircling the green grass dance floor) and sparklers illuminated the night as they danced. This was followed by a parent dance and a spectacular fireworks display on the water. Wow, wow, wow!

After the brilliant pyrotechnics display, everyone made their way back to the tent to dance the night away to the talented musical stylings of Parkside Drive. The photo booth (a converted Volkswagen van) arrived and fun photo memories were captured. Lauren + Fraser cut their cake and sampled the delicacies from the wall of donuts (delectable local Muskoka blueberry treats), then joined the rest of the dance party. What an amazing night … and day!
