Happy Canada Day! Megan + Brandon are married! You may remember Megan + Brandon from their engagement session at The 100 Mile Store in Creemore, Ontario last fall, where we got to spend the day with them and their adorable furry friend, Lincoln. Over the past year, we have absolutely adored getting to know them. They are a beautiful couple and the love they have for one another is uplifting and inspiring. This is the wedding that Brandon built. This is their wedding story.
Megan + Brandon couldn’t have picked a more perfect day to represent their blending of traditions and cultures than to celebrate on our national holiday. From being “Screeched-In” to the family (a Newfoundland rite of passage involving a shot of Screech and kissing a cod) and the Chinese Tea Ceremony (a Chinese tradition to express parental gratitude), to the Canadian maple syrup favours and the guest tables named after Canadian treasures, Megan + Brandon held nothing back as they celebrated their union by honouring their familial and national history.
We started the day at the Toronto Westin Harbour Castle where we met Brandon and the guys. Shortly thereafter, we headed upstairs to visit the ladies. Thunder boomed outside and sideways rain fell from the sky, but no amount of wet weather could dampen their spirits. By the time we arrived at Archeo in The Distillery District, the clouds parted and the sun shone through, lighting the outdoor ceremony. Megan + Brandon pledged their love among family and friends under the stunning arbour Brandon created and they were announced husband and wife. After a fun creative session with the family, bridal party and couple, we headed inside for the reception. Heartfelt speeches and endearing words were shared by their loved ones throughout dinner, followed by the first dance and parent dances. Then, it was time to party the night away!

Magnifico! From the perfect weather to the splendid venue….every little detail was taken care of meticulously. It all struck home for us, when my good friend Peter came down the aisle with his beautiful daughter Megan on his arm and his eyes welling with tears.
The whole day went off without a “hitch”…except for Megan and Brandon exchanging their vows. A truly magnificent day. Thank you both for inviting Aida and myself!
