Kirstin + Danny are married! You may remember Kirstin + Danny from their waterfall photography engagement session in White’s Falls, Ontario a few months ago. They’re a sweet couple we’ve had the chance to get to know at a number of weddings over the years, and it was such a joy to capture their special day. This is their wedding story.
The night before the wedding we checked the forecast. All week the weather predicted rain. The night before the wedding, the forecast warned of rain and an impending tornado. A tornado?!? Oh well, we thought. No matter what, it’s going to be a beautiful day. And that it most definitely was.
We arrived to meet with Danny and the guys at his childhood home, where everyone was bustling about in preparation of the day. Danny looked very dapper in his light brown RW & Co. suit. We spent a few moments with Danny, his parents, grandmother and the guys before heading over to the Nott to meet Kirstin and the ladies in their suite. The ladies were in make-up mode when we arrived. Once Kirstin was ready, she slipped into the other room and put on her gorgeous, sparkling gown. She was truly a vision of beauty. Her father and brother entered the room for a first look and hugs, then it was time to head to a nearby tree-lined grove for the first look with Danny.
Kirstin + Danny found a picture perfect spot for a first look only a few minutes away from Belle Vue Terrasse. Once they saw one another for the first time, with smiles from ear to ear, the couple took a moment for some family and bridal party portraits. Windy, but still no rain. Then, “Sir” Benson arrived on the scene. Bounding happily towards Kirstin with tongue waving, the adorable dog of honour gave his Mom a huge doggy hug. We made our way over to the barn for the ceremony. The scene was majestic. The ceremony was set on a hill. You could view the stunning landscape in the background, as the couple exchanged their heartfelt, hand-written vows. Still no rain. The crowd cheered as the two were pronounced husband and wife, and everyone made their way up to the barn for cocktail hour. Then, the rain came, but with it, came the most beautiful rainbow etched across the sky! Then, the rain ceased and stayed away for the remainder of the night! And thankfully, there was no tornado.
A vintage couch was brought out into the field for some more family, bridal party and couple portraits. Some guests enjoyed cocktails outside, others visited with the local goats and others began to make their way inside the barn for the reception. The parents and bridal party were announced into the room first. Kirstin + Danny followed the group and immediately went into their first dance. A delicious buffet-style dinner was served, followed by the most tender speeches imaginable. Once the couple thanked their guests for coming, they danced with their parents and the party was set in motion. Everyone danced the night away in celebration of a spectacular day!

We were honoured to attend Kirsten and Danny’s wedding. Was a beautiful day and everything was perfect to the weather turning out with a rainbow at the end of the ceremony.
