Johnathon + Vanessa | Wedding Photography Fusion in Toronto, Ontario
It’s not too often you can wish a newly married couple Happy Anniversary on their wedding day, but such is the case with this darling duo! Johnathon + Vanessa are an absolute joy to be around. They have been together for thirteen years now! In fact, their Saturday wedding marked the 13-year anniversary for this pair of high school sweethearts. And from now own, this will be their wedding anniversary date, as well! How sweet! This is their wedding story.
Johnathon was getting ready only a few minutes away from the church, so we changed up our regular routine of beginning with the guys, and started our day with the ladies at Vanessa’s relative’s house in North York. The house was abuzz with activity, as Vanessa and her bridesmaids got ready for the day. We arrived early, so spent a few moments upstairs with the shiny shoes, delicate dress and beautifully, hand-designed bejeweled broach bouquet created by the family. Vanessa read a letter from her soon-to-be husband, as tears of joy streamed down her cheeks. Family members started to arrive and gathered downstairs to catch up and celebrate. As Vanessa descended the stairs to see her father, her bright smile and beauty radiated the room.
It was time for us to make our way to Johnathan’s father’s house where the guys were getting ready. When we arrived Johnathon, was putting on his vest, tie and jacket with the help of his best man. He stood for a moment to read a note from Vanessa and fought back the emotion welling inside. He could hardly wait to see his bride!
The choice of where to have their ceremony was an easy one for Johnathon + Vanessa. All the men in Johnathon’s family have been married at Our Lady of the Airways in Mississauga. So, to continue in family tradition, Johnathon + Vanessa were wed at the church, as well. As Vanessa approached the altar to meet Johnathon at the front, you could feel the excitement in the air. The two exchanged rings, kissed, shared in communion, and were now officially married. Their loved ones cheered as they walked up the aisle hand-in-hand, husband and wife.
We took a few portraits of the newlyweds at the church. Then, the couple, bridal party and family hopped inside the massive party bus. We headed over to the Claireville Conservation Area in Brampton for the creative session. We captured some great moments at the natural landscape before heading over to The Jewel Event Centre in Vaughan for the reception.
The Jewel Event Centre is a hidden gem in the heart of Vaughan. The bridal party prepared the foyer for the receiving line. They handed out hugs, gifts and shots to welcome guests into the venue. Once everyone arrived and was seated, the DJ announced in the bridal party. The room roared with applause as Johnathon + Vanessa entered the room! The couple shared in their first dance to kick off the celebration, then dinner service began. The food was amazing! Everyone had a wonderful time, eating and listening to the sweet stories and speeches from their loved ones. Towards the end of the speeches, Johnathon + Vanessa danced with their parents and his grandmother. Then it was time for the couple to speak. Caribbean music filled the hall, as Johnathon announced to Vanessa that he planned a surprise island honeymoon for the two of them! She was ecstatic! The night was filled with tears of joy, laughter, napkins waving in the air to make the bride and groom kiss, and of course, dancing! What a party!
Thank you so much, Johnathon + Vanessa, for allowing us to capture your wedding! We are so honoured to have spent the day with you and your amazing family! We wish you all the best! Happy Anniversary!
