Wedding Cinema at The National Club in Toronto, Ontario

Himani + Chris | Wedding Cinema in Toronto, ON

We’ve been anticipating this day for nearly a year now. The day we would finally get to meet this fabulous couple. You see, Himani contacted us a year ago (by phone) to see if we would be available to capture their Toronto wedding. Himani + Chris were officially married in India in December 2014; however, some of their friends and relatives were unable to attend the overseas ceremony, so they decided to plan a Toronto wedding for their loved ones who live locally. This would be their second (actually third) wedding within the year.

Himani + Chris have an exhilarating romance that transcends borders. They’ve lived, studied and worked all over the world, from Italy to New York to Canada, and throughout it all, they’ve held on to love. This is their intercontinental wedding story.

We arrived at The National Club, a prestigious private members club, in downtown Toronto for the celebration. Himani + Chris were on their respective floors, visiting family and readying themselves for their formal Canadian ceremony. The atmosphere was relaxed. The gentlemen played a game of billiards upstairs, as the ladies finished their hair and make-up on the level below. On the main level, the grand ballroom was abuzz with activity. Gorgeous vinyl was installed on the dance floor, the florists were finalizing arrangements, candles were being placed, while Chris’ mother delicately added enhancements to each guest table.

Himani + Chris dressed, then met on the front steps of The National Club for a “first look.” Onlookers cheered and offered congratulations to the happy couple, as they passed by. Tara McMullen Photography was on-site for the day, documenting each tender moment. Guests began to arrive, and filled the seats of the red-toned Bar Lounge for the ceremony. Himani walked down the “L” shaped aisle, arm-in-arm with her parents, to meet her husband. They exchanged rings and were declared husband and wife again.

Once the ceremony ended, Himani + Chris and their guests headed upstairs to the rooftop for drinks and hors d’oeuvres. After a few moments mingling, everyone made their way to the beautifully decorated, candle-lit grand ballroom for dinner. Friends and family members toasted the couple between courses. Himani + Chris thanked all their guests for joining them on this auspicious occasion. They proceeded to cut their cake, then Electric Blonde took the stage to serenade the couple for their first dance.

Everyone was invited to join in a group dance, as the full bridal party (and other relatives) jumped up and down to a lively Indian tune. The room was electric with excitement.

Thank you, Himani + Chris, for allowing us to capture this beautiful moment in your lives. It was such a pleasure to witness all the hugs, well wishes and smiles throughout the day. We wish you both all the best as you continue your travels together.
