Sarah + Daniel | Wedding Photography in Collingwood, ON

Adorable. The perfect word to describe Sarah + Daniel. Their personalities complement each other in such an endearing way. It seemed like every time they interacted, they were sharing a sweet look or laugh. Simply adorable. This is their wedding story.

PREPARATION
We met up with Daniel, his family and the gentlemen at a chalet in Blue Mountains, ON. His little nephew roamed about the room, showing off his cool suspenders and fancy jacket, while the guys dressed. Before getting into his tuxedo, Daniel read a tender note from his bride-to-be. After a reflective moment, he put on his tuxedo and joined the guys in the living room.

We headed across the street to meet Sarah. She looked lovely in her silk, “bride” robe and cathedral veil. She read her card from Daniel and could hardly fight back the tears. Her mother and sister entered the room to help Sarah get into her gorgeous gown. Once the last button was crocheted on her dress, Sarah descended the wooden staircase for a reveal to her father and the ladies waiting below. Happy tears were shed, even before they saw her. She was a vision!

CEREMONY
The entire wedding was held at Craigleith Ski Club in Blue Mountains, ON. The decor for the day was a creative collaboration between the brilliant team of Donna (Sarah’s Mom) and the Cathy Lane crew of Panache Design Works. We were so looking forward to working with Cathy and witnessing her beautiful designs.

The ceremony looked amazing! Sarah entered the room, as Daniel stood atop the platform awaiting her approach. Sarah’s father, tearfully, gave his daughter to Daniel. The couple grasped hands and began their ceremony.

And what a ceremony! From the reading of a Velveteen Rabbit excerpt to the amusingly unique, conversational vows the couple shared, this ceremony was… adorable. The way Sarah + Daniel played off each other as they presented their creative declarations was the best! It was a perfect illustration of their relationship.

CREATIVE SESSION
The bridal party boarded their shuttle bus and drove to the Craigleith Depot. We got some great portraits of the couple and their friends. The ladies puffed on cigars, and the guys celebrated the day with a game of groom toss. We made our way back to the ski club for family portraits and a stop at the chair lift. Then, it was time to party!

RECEPTION
The venue underwent a quick transformation from ceremony to reception, complete with country harvest tables and chairs graced with delicate pashminas. The guests enjoyed the couple’s signature drink, The Venice Bellini,” to commemorate Sarah + Daniel’s adventures abroad. An oyster bar was set on the balcony. A guest book with a Polaroid camera photo station was in the corner for guests to mark their attendance and give well wishes to the couple.

After a receiving line, the bridal party entered the room and Sarah + Daniel danced their first dance as husband and wife. Speeches were intermingled between dinner courses. Then, Sarah + Daniel surprised their guests with a fireworks display on the mountain. It was spectacular!

Moments after the fireworks ended, rain poured from the sky, but it didn’t matter. Everyone was ready to dance (and polka) the night away indoors on the dance floor.

THANK YOU
Sarah + Daniel, thank you so much for allowing us to capture your wedding day! What an amazing day! The two of you are absolutely adorable together. Remember to stay playful … but never on the stairs. We wish you both all the best!
