Wedding Photography at Blue Mountian Resort

Erika + Jon | Wedding Photography in Blue Mountains, ON

Erika + Jonathan were married on top of a mountain on a brilliantly, sunny Saturday in May. This is their wedding story.

PREPARATION
We arrived to meet Jon, his best man and groomsmen in their cozy accommodations located at The Grand Georgian in Blue Mountain Resort. They just got back from an intense golf game (Jon won!). The guys dressed in their summer-themed attire for the day — light gray pants, white shirts and vests. They hung around the room laughing, joking and having a good time, while waiting to board the mountaintop bound shuttle.

Erika was a short walk away at an adjacent resort in Blue Mountain. We joined her, her mom, maid of honour and bridesmaid in their suite, shortly after leaving the guys. We grabbed some shots of her dress, shoes and jewelry, as Erika finished her make-up. A few moments later, she slipped into her strapless, satin gown and headed out the door.

CEREMONY
Jon made his way up to the mountain with his boys and parents. Erika boarded the next shuttle with her wedding party. As they traveled, the guests milled about, eagerly anticipating the couple’s arrival, while admiring the wooden arbor decorated with hanging golden hearts.

Under a baby blue sky, Erika + Jon declared their love for one another in front of their family and friends. The two kissed, then walked down the aisle hand in hand, as husband and wife.

CREATIVE SESSION
Family, friends and bridal portraits were captured on the mountaintop. Then, everyone was sent down the gondola to the village below. Erika + Jon stayed on the mountaintop for a few moments alone, then hopped on the gondola to enjoy the magnificent view of Georgian Bay.

They walked through the village amid the cheers and congratulations of passerbys. The newlyweds stopped by the dock for a few quiet moments, then made their way to the cocktail party at the Inn Cafe.

RECEPTION
Guests enjoyed appetizers and specialty drinks (like Erika’s Princess Punch), while the talented singer-songwriter/musician, Taylor Abram (who just so happens to provide the awesome soundtrack for Erika + Jon’s photo slideshow), entertained the crowd.

Erika + Jon mingled with their guests until it was time for their grand entrance, followed by their first dance. Taylor Abram sang a fun song for the couple to set off the night’s events. Sweet speeches were given by the best man, father of the bride, maid of honour, bridesmaid and couple. Then, it was time for a touching, father/daughter dance. Once they shared their special moment, the dance party began, as everyone crowded the floor to get their groove on!

Thank you Erika + Jon for allowing us to be a part of your family’s celebration! We are so happy to have met you and wish you many, many years of happiness!
