Spud + Amanda | Wedding Video in Egbert, ON

On a splendid, sunny Saturday in June, a sweet couple got married at a quaint tree farm nestled in the woods. This is their wedding story.

PREPARATION
Amanda was seated in her make-up chair, looking lovely already, when we arrived at her family’s home to start preparation. We surveyed the lush greenery of the backyard, then headed inside to get some of the action. Everyone was super relaxed (even the doggies were lounging), as the room full of ladies chatted about the events to come.

Before Amanda slipped into her dress, she paused to read a card, smell the gorgeous bouquet of red roses (her fave), and open a lavish gift from her beau (a stunning pair of sapphire earrings with a necklace to match). After a moment of admiring her precious gems, her bridesmaids presented Amanda with a scrapbook documenting the love story (from engagement to wedding day) of the couple.

Andrew (affectionately known as Spud) was hanging out with his groomsmen in their fancy socks, six houses down the lane at his mother’s home. How adorable! Their parents live on the exact same street! When we arrived, they began to suit up. Then, they headed out the door to the farm.

CEREMONY
The ceremony was held at Drysdale’s Tree Farm. This location is truly a tranquil, hidden gem. Once we arrived on property, we hopped on a red train to take us deeper into the woods to the ceremony site – a quiet spot beside a small pond. Amanda surprised everyone by arriving in a police cruiser, as a tribute to her father (a former police officer who passed away a few years ago in the line of duty). The guests, and the groom, could hardly contain their emotion. Spud fought back tears, as he watched his gorgeous bride walk down the aisle, escorted by her mother. It was a short and sweet service, followed by a kiss and proclamation … announcing the two as husband and wife. Amanda + Spud cheered and walked down the aisle hand-in-hand as newlyweds.

CREATIVE
It was so much fun to be able to spend the creative session with our dear friend (photographer) Allison Milne. The session started with family portraits (including adorable photos with their immediate family – their dogs Atlas and Gertie). Once all the family and bridal party pictures were taken, it was time for a few, fun moments with Spud + Amanda. So in love!

RECEPTION
The reception took place in the front hall of the tree farm. The glass greenhouse was lined with string lights, burlap bows and large paper lanterns hanging from the ceiling. Water stations were set up alongside the room, equipped with Voss, San Pellegrino and fruit-flavoured filled water dispensers with fresh lemon, watermelon and oranges. A cool, refreshing treat for a hot, summer day. Guests enjoyed cocktail hour outside by the fountain until it was time for the bridal party grand entrance. The group entered the room to wild applause, then sat down for their mouth-watering meal provided by Liberty North.

Speeches and well wishes were sprinkled throughout dinner, followed by the couple’s first dance in the gazebo. Bubble blowing by guests was strongly encouraged, as buckets filled with bubbles lined the stairs. Once their dance ended, Amanda and her brothers shared in a touching dance in honour of their father. The family fought back tears as they watched the beautiful tribute. Then, it was Spud and his mother’s turn to dance. The two cut a rug on the gazebo floor and invited all the guests to join them in their celebratory moment.

Once the formal dances were complete, the party moved back inside the greenhouse. A fresh popcorn station was set up, along with a candy table. Then, Jamie Williams “The One Man Band” graced the stage with all his instruments and set the dance floor ablaze. He pumped up the crowd with his passionate performance and remarkable covers of classic tunes. Everyone had a great time!
