Wedding Photography Fusion at a Farm in Hillsdale, ON

Emilie + Cody | Wedding Photography Fusion in Hillsdale, ON

It was a crisp, cool day early in September when Emilie + Cody pledged their love to one another. We met Cody and the guys at Horseshoe Resort in Barrie, ON where they were prepping for the day. When we arrived at the condos, the guys were still getting their suits on and their ties tied by Cody’s dad. Once they were ready, we headed outside to get some shots of the guys and Cody’s parents before making our way over to meet the ladies at the family farm.

The farm was all abuzz with activity, as the adorable flower girls and dapper little ring bearer danced around the room to music on the iPod. Emilie was getting the final pin placed into her veil in a chair next to the children, when they stopped what they were doing to shower her with hugs. We, then, walked over to her parent’s home located right outside. They just built a magnificent gazebo-type structure on the lawn, as well as an addition onto the home yesterday (Yes, it took only a day!), for her to slip into her dress. Emilie looked lovely, as her sister clasped the top of the stunning, backless lace gown. Once finished, Emilie boarded a horse-drawn carriage and was whisked away to Mount Saint Louis Catholic Church, a quaint chapel located around the corner.

Emilie + Cody said their vows a few moments later among family and friends. Then, hopped back on the horse-drawn carriage to travel back to the farm. It was fun to revisit the farm for their creative session. Several months ago, we got the chance to tour the property with Emilie, Cody and their dogs for their engagement session. We had such a fun time that night! We knew it would be a perfect spot for the family, bridal and couple portraits. After hanging out with Emilie + Cody, the sheep, the sheepdog, the chickens, the pony, and the cow, we left the farm to attend the tent reception at Horseshoe Resort.

Emilie + Cody shared their first dance, while a live band provided the soundtrack. Then, it was time for the delicious buffet dinner, toasts (including an adorable reading of a “Winnie the Pooh” excerpt by the flower girls), and more dancing (mother-son, father-daughter). This time, Emilie’s sister-in-law (and her twin) joined the band and serenaded the special dances. The flower girls and ring bearer wanted to perform with the band, so they headed to the microphone to sing the first party song of the night. The band rocked it out and everyone had an amazing time dancing the night away, until …

Surprise! Fireworks lit up the night. Emilie + Cody shared a kiss under the illuminated sky, as their guests enjoyed the light display. As the last firework popped, Emilie + Cody went back inside the tent to cut the pie. Yes, pie. Cody loves pie, so Emilie’s dad baked many mini apple and peach pies for everyone to eat. What a spectacular night!

Emilie + Cody, it was so nice spending the day with you and your family. You are all wonderful! Thank you for inviting us to capture your wedding day.

P.S. Thanks for the delicious apple pie!
