Wedding Photography Fusion at St. Patrick’s Basilica in Ottawa, ON

Alex + Cheryl | Wedding Fusion in Ottawa, ON

Alex + Cheryl found out about us through their friends, Laura + Dusan, an amazing couple who received our very first Fusion Film last year.

We, actually, had never met Alex + Cheryl until the wedding day. Most of our conversations were on the phone or over email because they live in Ottawa. However, from the time we finally met in person, we felt as if we’d known them for years.

We first met Alex at his parent’s home, where he and his groomsmen were getting ready for the day. Sporting their Transformers cufflinks, the guys sat in the living room watching “Casino Royale” and joking around with one another, as they waited for their limo to arrive. When it came time to fold the pocket squares, panic set in, as they realized no one knew how to properly fold a pocket square. However, they “Googled” and “You Tubed” until they finally got it right. Big success, Autobots!

We, then, met up with Cheryl and her bridesmaids. What a lovely group of ladies! Cheryl finished her makeup, then headed upstairs to put on her dress. What a gorgeous gown! Her Dad fought back tears as she emerged from the room, and descended down the stairs. She looked stunning! Alex’s mom sewed Cheryl’s grandmother’s garter (something blue) into the lining of Cheryl’s dress, and she was ready to go.

St. Patrick’s Basilica, in downtown Ottawa, is one of the most sought after churches for weddings in the area and we can see why. It’s breathtaking! There, Alex + Cheryl exchanged vows before their family and friends in a very touching ceremony.

Then, it was time for their creative session at Mackenzie King Estate in Gatineau Park in Gatineau, QC. The rain poured down the entire drive over to the property, but when we stepped outside the vehicle to start the session, the sun came out! Hallelujah!

It was a perfect Fall day! We captured some great moments with the bridal party and couple before heading over to the reception hall at the Centurion Centre in Nepean, ON.

Alex + Cheryl had a brilliant idea for each of the guest tables to fill out an imaginative, mad-lib style story of how the couple met. It was a great night filled with heartfelt speeches, good food, and a live band. Everyone danced the night away! Congratulations to Alex + Cheryl on your wedding! Have an amazing honeymoon!
