Jarrod + Kathlyn | Orillia Wedding Photography
Last year, we had the great pleasure of spending a brisk, Fall day with Jarrod + Kathlyn during their photo engagement session. They just moved to the Barrie area, after living in Montreal for many years. Kathlyn (also known as Laney) quickly became one of our favourite people when she supplied us with a homemade playdough recipe (made with flour and food colouring) for our toddler. He loves it! Fast forward to nearly one year later, where they were married at the majestic Guardian Angels Parish in Orillia, ON. How time flies!
September 10, 2011 was a very popular wedding date this year. Possibly because it breaks down numerically to 9.10.11. It kinda makes it difficult to forget an anniversary with a date that catchy.
We met Laney at her home, where she, her family, her flower girls, her ring bearer, her maid of honour and all five of her bridesmaids were getting ready! It was a rather calm environment, considering that so many people were getting prepared in the same place. However, you could feel the anticipation!
We, then, headed off to the church to meet Jarrod and the guys. Jarrod + Laney had a Catholic ceremony interspersed with cultural Philipino traditions. It was a lovely! They said their vows and made a unified promise to one another, the church and their families.
Afterwards, we traveled to Casino Rama in Rama, ON for the reception. Along the way, we stopped at several nice spots in downtown Orillia to capture some great moments with the newlyweds.
All in all, it was a beautiful day! Congratulations Jarrod + Laney! We miss YOU already!

I have been a friend of Kathleen, Jarrod’s mom for about 25 years. Our children went to the same schools and it is amazing to have seen them grow from crayons to careers! The pictures are beautiful and the fact that Jarrod and Laney look so relaxed and at ease is a tribute to their love for each other and a photographer who works with a passion.
